A team of students from the University of Hong Kong has won the CIMA global business challenge (GBC) grand final. It is the second year running that a Hong Kong team has won the competition, which aims to nurture business leaders of the future.

Team Starlight--competing against the national champions of Australia, Bangladesh, mainland China, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the UAE and the UK--presented the winning business case to an expert judging panel. Judges included directors of Barclays Capital and IBM Malaysia, as well as CIMA directors and honorary officers.

"We are amazed and excited to be named champions," the team members said. "We have worked exceptionally hard and we were proud to represent Hong Kong. We are grateful to the institute for the opportunity to showcase our talent and we hope that this will be our first step towards successful careers."
