The Prince's Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) and the Global Reporting Initiative have announced the formation of the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC). This brings together representatives of the corporate, accounting, securities, regulatory, NGO and standard-setting sectors.

The objective is to create a globally accepted framework for accounting for sustainability that combines financial, environmental, social and governance information in a concise, consistent, and comparable format. This is designed to help organisations produce comprehensive and comprehensible information about total performance--prospective as well as retrospective--which is necessary for a sustainable global economic model.
