After university, I had a clear idea that I wanted to use my accountancy degree within industry rather than practice - and CIMA seemed like the best way to allow me to do this. I've been at 3D Reid for four years. I oversee the entire finance function and report all financial matters to the board. At the moment, cash flow management and issues around our overseas growth programme take up most of my time.

We're currently responsible for building the velodrome for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and the new [pounds sterling]100m headquarters for the Co-operative Group in Manchester, England. Totalling 500,000sq ft, the headquarters will be the largest commercial office building in the city. The building has been rated "outstanding" by BREEAM, the leading rating system for green construction - officially making it one of the most environmentally friendly buildings in the UK. The building includes many measures to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
