Small and medium-sized enterprises are being urged to help their staff donate to charity by setting up payroll giving schemes. In the latest Budget, the chancellor introduced a new grant to encourage smaller firms to use the system. The grant is available for two years and helps employers to meet setting-up costs such as software and advertising. Alan Colwill, a partner at charity fundraising organisation Payroll Giving in Action, believes that more smaller firms should take advantage of the incentive.
