Six Africans made Time magazine's 100 most influential people list for 2019 (five of whom have featured in our own annual listing). Ghanaian entrepreneur Fred Swaniker, a regular contributor to New African, was one of those six. Swaniker was chosen for his work with the African Leadership Academy and the African Leadership University. The way he puts it, there are less than 6,000 days to go until Africa has the world's largest workforce, a ticking time-bomb. Through his initiatives he aims to train 3 million leaders and innovators that will help create opportunity for those 1 billion Africans who will enter the job market by 2035.
