It was heartening to read Gordon Grant's "In business" article in your December/January issue. Referring to CIMA Sri Lanka, he wrote: "The United Nations Global Compact and CIMA Sri Lanka will host their inaugural sustainability awards in 2008. This event will recognise businesses for their achievements in core areas such as promoting human rights, improving labour relations, conserving the environment, and fighting corruption." (My emphasis.)
I wonder whether CIMA Sri Lanka will exert pressure on the Sri Lankan government to promote...
