It was refreshing to read Howard Bryant's "Big in smalls" feature in the July/August issue. His article highlighted the power of the CIMA qualification and knowledge bank in helping companies to grow.

Entrepreneurs often add more value during downward cycles of the economy as they spot commercial opportunities. This is at a time when larger organisations are often downsizing. As chairman of the Members in Practice Management Group, I think it's abundantly clear that our skills as consulting management accountants in practice are in higher demand than ever in this challenging climate.
