Thank you for your coverage of Nigeria's Central Bank governor, Charles Soludo, and the award he has won from The Banker magazine as Global Central Banker of the Year (Soludo scoops highest award, African Business February 2006).


It was extremely important that Nigeria's banking system regained the stability and integrity that befits Africa's largest nation, and under Professor Soludo's expert management, although there is still work to be done, that has, by-and-large, now been achieved.

The international community has also recognised Nigeria's progress in transforming itself from a by-word for poor governance and corruption to a country that can boast an acceptable degree of financial rectitude. For instance, Lars...
