Mozambique's President Filipe Nyusi (right) was sworn in for a second and final term in the capital Maputo, after a contested election.
Nyusi won re-election in October with 73% of the vote, while the opposition alleged irregularities.
The President has overseen a turbulent period which was marked by an armed insurgency, a corruption scandal and the beginnings of Mozambique becoming a natural gas titan.
Heads of state from Portugal, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Zambia and Angola were in attendance.
