A new teaching hospital and associated medical college are to be built in Dubai at a cost of AED1billion ($274m). The ambitious project is targeted at the growing medical tourism business and aims also to address the serious shortage of medical graduates in the country. The 300-bed University Hospital in Dubai Silicon Oasis, which will create 4,000 jobs and have the capacity to treat 700,000 patients a year is scheduled to open in 2017.
