A portrait of a Nigerian princess named Tutu has been found in a London flat after being lost for more than 40 years. Tutu was painted by famous Nigerian artist Ben Enwonwu in 1974, sold a year later at auction, and disappeared after that.
The painting will be auctioned at Bonhams in London and the sale will be screened live in Lagos, allowing Nigerian art lovers to make bids direct from Nigeria.
"The fact that she's been lost all these years and finally discovered is truly remarkable," said Eliza Sawyer, a specialist ir African art at Bonhams.
