Tetra Pak, the global packaging business, is launching an ambitious campaign in Kenya, together with the East African country's dairy processors, to promote the consumption of long-life milk. In 2009, Kenya earned Ksh64bn ($729m) from 3.7bn litres of milk, yet only 200m litres of milk a year is processed by manufacturers. The rest is either sold as raw, pasteurised milk or disposed of as waste because it does not meet the required standard for manufacturing.
