Grammy-winning Cardi B (below) is the latest star to seek citizenship in Africa, sharing with followers on social media that she will file for Nigerian citizenship.

The singer had just returned to the States from a trip to Nigeria and Ghana where she tweeted her desire following the US airstrike which killed Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.

"It's sad this man (Trump) is putting American lives in danger. Dumbest move Trump did to date ... I'm filing for my Nigerian citizenship," she tweeted.

She has asked fans to weigh in on whether her Nigerian name should be Chioma B or Cadijat.

Born Belcalis Almanzar, with Afro-Caribbean roots in Trinidad and the Dominican Republic, it's not immediately clear how the rapper might acquire Nigerian citizenship.

Nevertheless, Cardi B follows other stars searching...
