The European Parliament has also approved proposed legislation on the acceptance of professional qualifications across borders: the mutual recognition directive.

CIMA members may be affected by changes concerning the temporary and occasional cross-border provision of services if the service provider is not established in the member state where its services are delivered. The arrangements will not apply to statutory audit, but they will cover other services provided by accountants.
