Forest fires have ravaged Ethiopia's Semien National Park in the northern Amhara region for the past few months, with firefighters unable to quell the blaze.

Appealing for help, experts from South Africa, Kenya and France were among the first to offer their assistance, with neighbour Kenya dealing with a similar situation in Mount Kenya as delayed rains raised the likelihood of climate crisis in the region.
