In a remarkable photo, a ranger from Congo's famed Virunga National Park managed to a take a selfie with two upright gorillas looking directly at the camera in the background.

Gorillas are not known to stand in such a way but even our close cousins are seemingly 'doing it for the gram [Instagram]', as the image went viral.

Virunga sits on the forest-cloaked volcanoes of central Africa and is home to over half the global population of mountain gorillas.

It is also Africa's largest tropical rainforest reserve, covering 7,800 sq km (3,000 sq miles).
