Coram is a voluntary organisation supporting vulnerable children, with its roots dating back to the 18th century. In 1999, it became the third organisation in the UK to open a Concurrent Planning Project in partnership with two local authorities. Concurrent planning is designed to achieve speedier resolution of legal procedures and earlier permanency for children at risk of drifting in the care system.
