Sentrum have released further research findings which show that the voluntary Code of Conduct for Data Centres on Energy Efficiency; introduced by the European Union (EU); is failing to secure any significant level of support in the UK. The independent research report, commissioned by Sentrum, revealed that by mid-2009 only a minority of companies (12%) had adopted the EU Code of Conduct - a standardised and accurate way of rating data centres. Early concerns over the industry's failure to advance the voluntary code have now been further fuelled as the findings that show that, in 2010, just 15% of large UK organisations have adopted it.
