A team of four Real Estate lawyers including Liam Buckley and Stelios Coutsavlis joins Clyde & Co's Manchester office to further strengthen the Real Estate, projects and energy sector offerings across the UK and develop a new commercial Real Estate and Projects practice in Manchester.
Liam has more than 25 years' experience covering commercial property finance, investment and development, property joint ventures, as well as leasing, management and portfolio transactions. Liam is recognised in the legal directories as one of Manchester's leading Real Estate lawyers and has been involved in some of Manchester's highest profile transactions including the rebuilding and subsequent sale to the Prudential of the Manchester Arndale Centre following the IRA attack in the 1990s; the development of the Manchester business district "Spinningfields" including landmark lettings of up to 500,000 square feet of the Northern Headquarter offices of The Royal Bank of Scotland Plc; and more recently on the £1,6 billion sale of the issued share capital of the Iceland Frozen Foods group.
Liam moves from Squire Patton Boggs (formerly Hammonds) where he was head of the firm's UK Real Estate practice, and before that the Managing Partner of the firm's Manchester office. Liam said:
I am delighted to be joining Clyde & Co. This is a great time for the Real Estate market in the North West with significant investment interest from outside the region and indeed across the world. With that investment interest, and the government's devolution agenda, Manchester will continue to be an exciting place to practice. Clyde & Co is one of the legal firms which recognises the opportunities to develop its business here in the North West, and I am looking forward to contributing to that in my role...
