After securing a second term at the head of Africa's largest economy, Muhammadu Buhari (below) shocked the nation by abstaining from giving an address at his inauguration.
Despite all the usual pomp and ceremony, Buhari's silence will add to a Presidency which has often been criticised for its inaction.
After spending months in London for health reasons after he was first elected, the 76-year-old Buhari returned to the UK again this year for a "private visit".
Many are frustrated by his hands-off approach, and took to social media claiming it was a missed opportunity to reassure the population that the country is on track.
