The AFRO Hair and Beauty show - Europe's largest black hair, beauty and lifestyle event - is 20 years old this year, and it is being celebrated with a two-day extravaganza (3-4 June) at the usual venue, Alexandra Palace, north London.
The annual event attracts thousands of visitors from as far as Africa and the United States. To the black people of Britain, it is second only to the Notring Hill Carnival, Europe's largest street festival held on the last bank holiday in August.
There will be over 100 exhibitions to mark AFRO Hair's 20th anniversary, including a special stand for New African and its sister magazines Jeune Afrique, AM Economia, African Business and The Middle East.
"We are delighted that AFRO Hair and Beauty has reached 20 years and has established itself as Europe's largest exhibition of its kind. We draw people from all over the world, including Bulgaria, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. It is where any entrepreneur can see what is new and coming up within the hair and beauty industry."
Also on the cards are competitions, great give-aways, demonstrations, fashion shows, and even a pampering zone" where leading beauty therapists and cosmetic houses will demonstrate a range of treatment and services.
