GHANA

An international centre on climate change is to be established in Accra. The West Africa Science Services Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land (WASCAL) wil carry out research and provides 'science-base' advice on how to combat climate change and as centre for training in climate change and land management.

NIGERIA

Nigerian billionaire and chairman of Atlas Oranto Petroleum International, Prince Arthur Eze, has donated $12m to a Nigerian Church charity for youth development because of the track record of missionary churches for funds effectiveness and community development. (See Philanthropy page xx)

KENYA
