Moroccan engineers are gearing up to test Africa's first high-speed railway, which could run at speeds of up to 320 km/h.

Already the train has recorded speeds of 275 km/h, and the link between Casablanca and Tangiers via the capital Rabat will cut the journey by two thirds--to just over two hours.

The project was part-financed by France and cost around $2.4bn.
