(a) Commencement

It has been announced that implementation of the 2007 Act will now be 28 September 2009, as reported on the Scottish Government's website: www.scotland.gov.uk under News, 22 April. A further Commencement Order, the Adoption and Children (Scotland) Act 2007 (Commencement No. 3) Order 2009, SSI 2009/147, was made on 9 April. It came into force on 20 April, but only for the purpose of allowing regulations, etc, to be made under the 2007 Act.

(b) New Regulations

Following the 3rd Commencement Order, a number of sets of regulations have been laid in the Scottish Parliament to support the implementation of the 2007 Act. Once this is done, they should appear on the OPSI/HMSO website on the page for Scottish Statutory Instruments, SSIs, within about seven days. They can be found on the page: www.uk-legislation.hmso.gov. uk/legislation/scotland/s-stat under their individual numbers. As at 18 May, those laid and available are:

* Adoption Support Services and Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 2009, SSI 2009/152;

* Adoption Agencies (Scotland) Regulations 2009, SSI 2009/154;
